Archiving Policy

The Journal of Strategic Business Research (JSBR) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and discoverability of all scholarly content it publishes. We recognize that maintaining a secure and permanent scholarly record is essential for academic integrity, future research, and knowledge dissemination.

To achieve this, JSBR adopts a multi-layered digital preservation strategy involving secure storage, redundant backups, third-party archiving partnerships, and participation in recognized preservation initiatives.

1. Digital Preservation and Redundancy

  • All published articles are stored on multiple secure servers located in geographically distinct data centers to protect against technical failures, cyberattacks, and natural disasters.
  • Redundant backups are maintained at regular intervals to ensure quick restoration in the event of data loss.
  • Articles are preserved in  format (PDF) to ensure compatibility with evolving technologies.

2. Third-Party Archiving Services

To safeguard against loss of data due to unforeseen circumstances, JSBR participates in the following global archiving initiatives:

  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): Ensures that multiple copies of each published work are preserved across a network of participating libraries and institutions.
  • CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): A dark archive that guarantees perpetual access by releasing content for free if the journal ceases publication.

Portico / PKP Preservation Network (PN): Provides secure long-term archiving with migration to new formats as technology evolves

3. National and Institutional Repository Deposits

  • JSBR deposits all published articles into national digital repositories to comply with legal deposit requirements where applicable.
  • Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit the published version (Version of Record) in their institutional repositories and subject-specific repositories (e.g., SSRN, ResearchGate) with proper citation to the journal.

4. Author Self-Archiving Rights (Green Open Access)

JSBR supports author self-archiving in line with open-access best practices:

  • Preprints: Authors may share submitted versions (before peer review) freely on any platform.
  • Published PDF: Authors may share the final published version after publication, provided proper attribution to JSBR is maintained.

6. Contingency Planning and Journal Continuity

  • In the unlikely event that JSBR ceases publication, all published content will remain accessible through partner archiving services (e.g., CLOCKSS, Portico).
  • Content will be made freely available to the public without embargo to preserve the scholarly record.

7. Compliance with Funder and Institutional Policies

  • JSBR’s archiving policy complies with the requirements of major funding agencies, research councils, and academic institutions regarding open access and data preservation.

Authors funded by organizations with specific archiving mandates are encouraged to inform the editorial office to ensure compliance.
